Infested: Series 2 Infested unearths real-life horror stories of homes crawling with cockroaches, over-run with rats, invaded by bedbugs, and plagued by vermin hazardous to your physical and mental health. Determined to claim family homes as their own, these invaders use overwhelming numbers, sustained attacks and the threat of disease to conquer houses and apartments. Homes become battlegrounds, leaving their human victims with no place to hide. First-hand accounts and dramatic recreations reveal the pain and anguish of each family s fight to reclaim their homes as their own, but no matter what the outcome, home will never feel the same again.

[edit] Crawls from the Walls

In Tennessee, a married couple and their two children settle down to life in a rural area, where they start finding many bugs. Initially, it doesn't seem like a problem, until a brown recluse spider enters. Suddenly, the husband/father receives a bite that turns out to be so serious that it forces him to go to the hospital. Knowing there are many more spiders in the house, the family attempts to get rid of them with pest control treatments. In Pennsylvania, another family of four have been enjoying life in a close-knit community. However, they notice that one house in their neighbourhood is rather unkempt and its residents isolate themselves. As if that isn't unsettling enough, the family discovers German cockroaches spreading from the neighbours' house to theirs. In Georgia, a college student moves back home with his parents. Everyone tries to adjust to life in the south, but they soon learn that bedbugs have invaded their house. Throwing out the bedroom couch and getting an exterminator's help seems to be the solution, but the bedbugs continue to give the family problems

An older couple and their children have been living happily in their large home in eastern Pennsylvania, when suddenly; they discover German cockroaches spreading from a neighbour’s house to their own house. In California, a single mother, her daughter, and their dog move to start all over in an apartment, when suddenly, they sense an unpleasant odor. Objects start disappearing, and bits of cotton suddenly appear in places. A rat is soon discovered, and lots more spread in the house. In Kentucky, a married couple and their two children move into a new house. As soon as she steps in, though, the mother has been uneasy, with the bad smell and the strange noises. When the father discovers a bat, they forget about it. However, the family soon learns that they are sharing their home with many little brown bats.

[edit] Hostile Takeovers

In rural Texas, a couple moves to a seemingly perfect house and start settling in when suddenly, snakeskin and a scorpion are found. The two try to forget about it, but more and more venomous striped bark scorpions are being found. In Houston, Texas, a college student is enjoying life in her apartment. As she gets closer to graduating, she starts hearing rustling sounds from inside her home. She tries to live with them, but she soon detects feces in her bathtub. After she discovers a possum in her kitchen, more and more come into the house and take over. Worse, the possums come with fleas that threaten her health. In California, a couple and their children settle into a nice-looking house, only to start waking up to sick-looking sparrows tapping on the window. As if this isn't unsettling enough, the couple starts discovering tiny parasites called bird mites spreading from their bathroom.

In Missouri, a married couple and their son settle down to life in a seemingly perfect house, when suddenly, they start hearing scratching noises. Seeing damage to the air vents and air conditioning system, the family learns that their house is infested with breeding squirrels that are protected by law. In Tennessee, a musician, his wife, and their two children live peacefully in their home. One day, as the musician starts cleaning out the garage, he finds a spider and gets bitten. He soon learns that it is a brown recluse spider bite, which is particularly dangerous. The bug bombs appear to solve the problem, but the spiders move from the garage to the rest of the house. Worse, the musician gets bitten a second time. In a military base in Japan, a couple prepares to send their oldest daughter to a military academy, while also settling in their home. Discovering ticks, the couple believes that the problem originates from their dogs, only to find out that they are wrong.

In Texas, a mother, her son, and her boyfriend enjoy life in a seemingly nice apartment. One night, though, the son is suddenly awakened by strange noises. The family try to forget about it, but more noises come in. It is soon clear that possums have been living in the walls. As if this isn't unsettling enough, the family starts getting bitten by fleas. In Pennsylvania, a mother and her three children start over in a house after living in a homeless shelter for so long. One of the children wanted a pet, so the mother brings a kitten into the house. When one of her children starts scratching, returning the kitten seems to be the solution. However, when the family starts getting itchiness and bites, it becomes clear that the house is infested with bedbugs. Their problems become so bad that the mother resorts to camping out in the yard with her children. In southern California, a married couple enjoy life in a house in a seemingly safe neighbourhood. Suddenly, the family starts hearing noises. Traps are put in the attic, and seeing a rat trapped, the family realizes that they are dealing with a rat infestation.

[edit] Spreading Too Fast

In Massachusetts, a pair of owners of a summer camp have been enjoying their dynamic jobs for a while, when suddenly, a counselor and kids from a certain lodge come in with itchy bites. The problem initially appears to be scabies, but more and more kids from different lodges come in with the same bites. It becomes clear that there is a bed bug infestation. In Arizona, a young couple and their children finally start a new life in their own apartment, only to start noticing strange things about their home. Their neighbours are frequently moving out, and they start finding bugs and brown dirt like stuff on the floor. They soon learn that cockroaches have taken over their home, leaving plenty of feces behind. In Boston, Massachusetts, a music teacher and her dog live peacefully in their home, until suddenly, they start hearing noises. After smelling a foul odor in the house, the music teacher discovers a dead rat. Soon, more and more rats show up, spreading throughout her house, even as she gets them killed.

[edit] Under Siege

In Tennessee, a family enjoy a summer vacation in the countryside. Inside their house, though, everyone starts hearing strange noises, and feces are being discovered outside and in the attic. The culprit animal turns out to be a colony of an endangered bat species living in the attic, producing waste that causes the family to get asthma. In Maryland, a pair of newlyweds buys a home together as quickly as they can, only to find something strange about their new house. Smelling a foul odor and seeing brown granules in certain spots, the couple discover cave crickets in their basement. Pest control treatments appear to work, but the crickets keep on coming. In Indiana, a married couple and their children move to a bigger home to make room for their growing family, when suddenly, the mother/wife finds spiders. At first, it doesn't seem to be a big problem, but the spiders, which turn out to be brown recluse ones, keep coming and prove to be incredibly difficult to get rid of.
