[edit] Fritz Honka
An account of German serial killer Fritz Honka, whose insecurities over his height and peculiar sexual habits led to him killing four prostitutes. Stuart Hamilton and Liz Yardley investigate the crimes of Fritz Honka, who killed at least four sex-workers in Hamburg in the 1970s, hiding their dismembered bodies around his home.
[edit] Joachim Kroll
A profile of the ghastly German serial killer who between 1955 and 1976 terrorized western Germany by hunting and eating parts of his victims, earning him nicknames such as 'The Duisburg Man-Eater' and 'The Ruhr Cannibal'. He killed at least fourteen people and raped many more.
[edit] Volker Eckert
Examining the German truck driver who used his constant travelling to spread his killing spree across Europe. He committed his first murder by strangling a classmate when he was only 14, but it took more than 30 years and another 12 bodies before Europe's police forces finally caught serial strangler Volker Eckert.
[edit] Marc Dutroux
Profiling the Belgian serial killer, convicted for kidnapping, torturing and sexually abusing six victims, girls ranging in age from 8 to 19, until his arrest in 1996. A number of shortcomings in the Dutroux investigation caused widespread discontent in Belgium with the country's criminal justice system, and the ensuing scandal was one of the reasons for the reorganisation of Belgium's law enforcement agencies.
[edit] John Wayne Gacy
One of the most prolific serial killers in US history, Chicago killer John Wayne Gacy was a well liked member of his community, until it emerged he had ended the lives of 33 men in the 1970s and buried them beneath his home. He is often called the "Killer Clown,"as when he killed, he sometimes dressed as his alter egos "Pogo the Clown" or "Patches the Clown."
[edit] Jeffrey Dahmer
Profiling the Milwaukee factory worker, who was convicted of murdering 17 people after his victims' remains were discovered in his fridge. Over the course of more than 13 years, Dahmer sought out men, mostly African American, at gay bars, malls and bus stops, lured them home with promises of money or sex, and gave them alcohol laced with drugs before strangling them to death. He was dubbed the 'Milwaukee Cannibal' after he raped, murdered and dismembered 17 young male victims between 1978 and 1991.
[edit] Ed Gein
Profiling the killer and body snatcher Ed Gein, also known as the Butcher of Plainfield, who would fashion items out of bones and skin. The story of Gein's gruesome activities, particularly his devotion to a dead mother, strongly influenced Robert Bloch's 1959 novel Psycho, which was adapted to the big screen the following year by Alfred Hitchcock. His farm attracted crowds of curiosity seekers before it burned down in 1958, most likely in a blaze set by an arsonist.
[edit] Thierry Paulin
The story of the former drag artist, the "Monster of Montmartre" who brutally attacked, robbed and murdered at least 18 elderly women in France during the 1980s, to fund his extravagant lifestyle. A homosexual sadist, Paulin broke the usual mold of gay serial killers by preying on members of the opposite sex, sometimes accompanied on his raids by male lover Jean-Thierry Mathurin. He was arrested, almost by chance, in 1987, and very quickly admitted his crimes. He died of AIDS in prison on April 17, 1989 without having served his sentence.
