[edit] Information

It's spring in Montana's Rocky Mountains and a black bear has just given birth to two tiny cubs, Archie and Luke. It will take all mother bear's skill, and plenty of luck, if the twins are to survive the summer and learn to fend for themselves. So she teaches them how to find food by raiding ants nests, picking berries and even catching trout, but her greatest challenge is avoiding the wolves, coyotes and grizzlies that want to eat her cubs. To keep them alive she must teach them to climb trees.

There are moments of such cuteness in this film that it's almost impossible to watch without a soppy expression on your face. But this is no holiday camp for cubs: wolves, coyotes and grizzlies are always on the look out for a four-legged snack and there's a constant danger of forest fires. The scenery is beautiful, the daily routine of the bears enchanting, and there are plenty of factual titbits for trivia fans.
