Al Murray travels across the Western Front in a restored Willys MB Jeep, covering the timeline from the Invasion of Normandy to the fall of Berlin, interviewing survivors and showcasing some of the equipment used.

Driving his jeep across one of the beaches Britain invaded on D-Day, Al Murray joins four surviving crew from a Bren gun carrier from the 1st Suffolk Regiment.

[edit] The Battle for Normandy

Al Murray drives through Bocage in Normandy with D-Day survivors from the 2nd Battalion of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.

[edit] The Push for Paris

The Allies suffered few losses whilst decimating the 12th SS Panzer Division and killing the Wehrmacht's top commander. Al meets the survivors.

[edit] Hitler's Terror Weapon

Al visits rocket bunkers along the French and Belgian coast, and meets POWs who were forced to assemble Hitler's hi-tech weapons of mass destruction.

[edit] Arnhem: A Bridge Too Far

Al does a parachute jump with survivors of the 1st Parachute Brigade, who jumped from 1,500 aircraft and 500 gliders into the battle at Arnhem.

Al talks to air crew who flew the bombers and fighter escorts and finds out what the the famous 'war bird', the Lancaster bomber, was like to fly.

Al meets with a German tank crew and tries to manoeuvre one of their tanks through the snow-laden, densely wooded forests of the Ardennes.

Al meets Polish survivors of the Eastern campaign and hitches a ride in a T34 tank, the best WWII battlefield vehicle with tracks.

[edit] Crossing the Rhine

Al meets survivors of the 1st Commando and 1st Cheshire Regiments and reunites them with survivors of the 21st Army Group, who they fought alongside.

[edit] The Battle for Berlin

Al visits the site of Hitler's bunker beneath the old Reichstag and meets survivors of the final, brutal siege which reduced the Nazi empire to rubble.
