In 1969, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper changed the face of Hollywood with this seminal counterculture classic. Ushering in a new wave of anti-heroes and introducing mainstream audiences to sex n' drugs and rock n' roll, Easy Rider's influence spread throughout the Hollywood of the seventies, establishing a climate of progressive film-making that now stands as Tinseltown's last Golden Age. Easy Rider's iconic images and soundtrack still resonate with an exhilarating 'freedom', and, although very much a product of 1969, the film has achieved a timeless appeal that grows richer with each passing year. Made on a shoestring budget, this legendary road movie was one of the most stylish experiments of the New Hollywood era, and a huge hit upon its release, its success proving instrumental in persuading the big Hollywood studios to invest in more films from young directors.

This documentary about Easy Rider was created by Nicholas Freand Jones and first aired on BBC2 in December 1995.

This hour-long documentary about the production and cultural impact of Easy Rider was directed by Charles Kiselyak in 1999. It features actor-director-writer Dennis Hopper, actors Luke Askew, Karen Black, Seymour Cassel, and Peter Fonda, cinematographer Laszlo Kovacs, associate producer Bill Hayward, and production manager Paul Lewis.
