[edit] Information
Wonderful Wales With Michael Ball Series 1 World famous singer Michael Ball returns to his motherland of Wales.
[edit] Part 1
Michael begins in south Wales. His mother grew up in the Cynon Valley, and his grandfather and great-grandfather were both coal-miners. Michael visits the area that supplied coal to power the Titanic, and on the Gower Peninsula, he learns about cockle harvesting with three generations from Selwyn's Seafoods.
[edit] Part 2
The singer and broadcaster heads to mid Wales, making his way to the north of the country. His first stop is a familiar seaside town he is extremely fond of - Aberystwyth. This is where he did his first paid acting job, and Michael meets a friendly face from his summer performing in Godspell. Next, he drops in for lunch with the spectacular red kites of Mid Wales. Michael then checks in to restaurant Ynyshir on the Dyfi estuary for a Michelin-starred experience hosted by multi-award-winning chef Gareth Ward.
